The sun still shines down upon Queensland in March, providing the perfect opportunity to explore its many beautiful locations. One ideal holiday destination at this time of year is Noosa, and a trip to this idyllic location is made even more special thanks to the annual Noosa Festival of Surfing, held from 7-14 March 2015.
Billed as "the leading surf cultural event in the world", the Noosa Festival of Surfing saw 600 entries from 14 different countries in 2014 alone, making it the biggest surfing event by competitor numbers anywhere on Earth. Expect fun, entertainment and plenty of water activities, with guests flocking from throughout Australia and the world to celebrate all things surfing.
The event also showcases free movies and live bands. The festival villages provides cold refreshment, and with its lineup of wines and beers it will be hard to go past without pleasing the palate as well as the surfboard.
The schedule for this year's festival has been released and includes a huge range of activities such as men's and women's stand up paddle boarding, the Jeep Waterman challenge, The Cheap Fakes performing live and an opening party at Cafe de Monde - and that's just on the Saturday!

Stay for the whole festival to enjoy the likes of Kat Harding's Yoga for Surfers workshop, a costume party, wooden surfboards exhibition, age group surf heats, a screening of George Greenough's 'Deep Tube Riding' and, of course, the finals of the hotly contested surfing rounds. Whether you're a competitor or simply an observer, you'll find plenty to enjoy here.
