Adelaide is fast becoming known as one of Australia's most culturally diverse centres, which is what makes it the perfect location for the OzAsia Festival, a long-running event that's a favourite of locals and visitors alike.

This year, the Adelaide Festival Centre will host the action between September 3 and 20. What can you look forward to? For starters, there will be a wide range of theatre, dance, music, film, literature, exhibitions and of course food inspired from a plethora of Asian nations.

Of particular focus will be Shandong, South Australia's sister state. For 27 years South Australia and Shandong have shared a special bond, which will continue to be strengthened with this year's events and activities, and collaboration between Australian and Asian artists.

Discover the art of Mongolian Calligraphy at a workshop taking place on September 6 at the Radford Auditorium. Here, you can view a selection of recent Mongolian calligraphy work, and learn about the techniques used to create such beautiful art.

Check out Silk Legacy, a showcase of Chinese embroidery tradition, which delves into the historical, cultural and artistic value of this art form. Margaret Lee, a South Australian, teaches this style of embroidery around the world, and will now share her knowledge at the festival on September 9 and 15.

Keen philosophers should check out the Wisdom of Confucius Exhibition, which delves into the heart of Confucius, one of China's most influential thought leaders. His story and teachings will be brought to life, as will some important architectural sites such as the Confucian Temple and the Cemetery of the Confucian Family.

If you love Asian cinema, you simply must visit the 'Everything you wanted to know about Hong Kong Cinema but were too afraid to ask' exhibition. This will be presented by Sam Ho, a film critic, curator and researcher, who is coming from Hong Kong to be a part of this festival. He will share his wealth of knowledge and insight into Hong Kong's prolific film industry.
