If you're a fan of musicals, you're certain to have heard the name of Rodgers & Hammerstein before. This talented duo of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II were responsible for some of the most enduringly popular musicals in American history, from Oklahoma! and South Pacific to Carousel and The Sound of Music.

Now you can catch one of their most loved musical masterpieces right here in Brisbane, with the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC)'s season of The King and I from April 15 - May 11. This production of the time-honoured classic has won rave reviews for its fresh take on the story, set in the early 1860s in the exotic kingdom of Siam. The musical weaves a tale of an English governess who eventually falls in love with the King of Siam, but not before drama, tragedy and many beautiful songs ensue.
