Celebrate the Cairns Amateurs Racing Carnival

Cairns is a beautiful destination, with a gorgeous balmy climate making it the perfect place to escape for the Cairns Amateurs Racing Carnival, also known as the "Cairns Amateurs."

Why should you get excited about this event? Essentially, it's a four day extravaganza encompassing horse racing, fashion, entertainment and much, much more in early September.

This year, the carnival runs on September 11 to 14. The event has actually been running for more than 50 years, so you can rest assured it runs incredibly smoothly and is fun for all involved.

The Cairns Amateurs: Some highlights

Anybody keen on fashion should also head along to the Cairns Airport Ladies Fashion High Tea, which is taking place on 11 September at 9.30 a.m. at the Cannon Park Race Course. It's slated to feature local designers and boutiques, as well as visiting designers, so you can expect plenty of Cairns fashion talent, as well as some from further afield.
