Top attractions when visiting Mooloolaba

Located in the world famous Sunshine Coast, Mooloolaba is a coastal town with one of the safest beaches on the Sunshine Coast. It also happens to be also one of the most famous beaches in all of Queensland. We asked our General Manager at Mantra Mooloolaba Beach, Fabrice Grau to give us some suggested activities from a local’s perspective. Here is what he had to say.

Best hidden spot in Mooloolaba to take the kids

La Balsa Park
Located near Point Cartwright and right on the entrance to the Mooloolah River, this beautiful park provides scenic water views, BBQ and picnic facilities, a playground and even outdoor exercise equipment.  La Balsa Park is a great way to spend a lazy afternoon on the river’s edge and unwind. While there, be sure to take a beautiful coastal walk through the reserve and around the Beacon Lighthouse which spans 32 meters in height.

SEA LIFE Mooloolaba
During your stay in Mooloolaba, a visit to SEA LIFE Mooloolaba is a must. You'll enjoy a day filled with seal shows, shark diving, marine education and many, many more fun sea-inspired activities. For a truly unique experience the kids will never forget SEA LIFE holds 'Sleep under the sea' nights during the school holidays.

Best Mooloolaba restaurants and coffee

For the best cafes and restaurants, head to the Mooloolaba Esplanade (at the door steps of Mantra Sirocco and Mantra Zanzibar) and discover a wide selection of alfresco dining options that are sure to please any taste. For a delicious coffee we specifically recommend Good Bean.  For a great family breakfast try the Boathouse Restaurant at Mooloolaba Surf Club, here you’ll enjoy casual dining with ocean views and even a large buffet breakfast on Sundays from 7am-10am. For your family dinner needs, try Hello Harry Burgers or the Post Office on Ocean Street in Maroochydore. As the new entertainment and dining precinct, on Ocean Street you are sure to find something that suits the family.
If it’s a romantic dinner for two you are after, try the Spice Bar which offers a degustation menu and is a must-do dining experience. Our General Manager highly recommends it. If you are looking for a nice breakfast or brunch, the Velo project is a local treat that offers amazing coffee and juices. They also offer gluten free and vegan options and their buckwheat crepes are amazing.
